The idea for Sanctuaire Des Femmes was born in 2021 after attending a silent meditation retreat that really ground my gears. It was completely void of pleasure, and my soul wanted to scream.

I needed care, softness, touch, and nourishment. My life had served me up coldness and austerity aplenty. I didn't need to seek out more of it to heal.

I wanted to create a restorative space where tending to yourself could be the whole point. Where creature comforts aren’t considered a distraction from spiritual practice. In fact, seeking them out could be the practice.

Located a block from the ocean in the James Bay neighbourhood, steps away from long winding paths along the shore. I’m so very excited to share this sensory haven.

Sleep late. Walk to the ocean. Do qi gong on the beach. Buy bread. Go to the sauna. Smoke a joint on the balcony. Make something with your hands. Cry. Run along the water at sunset. Book a massage. Lie on the floor and watch incense smoke curl toward the ceiling. Read a whole book. Masturbate. Order dinner. Go dancing. Write for six hours. Do absolutely nothing.

Sanctuaire des Femmes is a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom condo in a quiet building in James Bay.

King-size bed with linen and cotton sheets, a medium-firm Endy mattress, black-out curtains, and a ceiling fan in the bedroom. East-facing balcony. A fully stocked kitchen.

A two-minute walk to the grocery store and the best sourdough bakery, a five-minute walk to the ocean, and a 30-minute walk to the ceramics studio and the Thai massage spot.

Sanctuaire centres the femme experience. You're welcome to bring anyone whose presence will make your stay more restful, pleasurable, or nourishing.
